Following the successful launch of StepJockey in the UK, a new base in the United States has been opened in New York.
The American operation will be headed up by Johnny Adamic, who previously worked for the New York City Department of Health, Department of Education and served on former mayor Bloomberg’s Obesity Task Force.
Helen Nuki, founder of StepJockey, says: ‘We are very excited to be starting out in America. Hundreds of buildings have been rated for calorie burn in the States and we have a number of large corporate clients there, so it’s fantastic to start getting a team in place.
'Johnny’s experience working with the former Mayor Bloomberg’s Obesity Task Force and health programs that create opportunities for physical activity in daily living, such as the 'Take the Stairs’ campaign, make him the perfect choice to take StepJockey forward.’
Johnny Adamic says: 'It’s an absolute pleasure to join StepJockey and take stair climbing to a new level. I have a lot of experience with this notion of creating opportunities for physical activity outside of the gym. I’m thrilled how StepJockey can better the health of Americans, one step at a time. A healthy American is a happy one.“
